Father Biagio Samuel Turillo was ordained in June 1946 and served at several parishes in Rhode Island, including St. Benedict Church in Warwick, St. Patrick Church in Providence, Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick, St. Mary Church in Cranston, Holy Angels Church in Barrington, St. Joseph Hospital in Providence, St. Anthony Church in Woonsocket, St. Ann Church in Providence, and St. Joseph Church in Hope Valley.
Turillo died in July 2023. He is included on the Diocese of Providence’s List of Credibly Accused Clergy and in the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Appendix A report.

Father Biagio Samuel Turillo History of Sexual Abuse
- According to the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Appendix A report, Father Biagio Samuel Turillo was accused of sexually abusing at least two boys in the 1950s.
The Diocese first learned of allegations against Turillo in 1952 or 1953 but did not remove him from ministry. It did not report any allegation against Turillo to law enforcement until 2016.
- In 1962, the Barrington Police Chief informed Bishop McVinney that Turillo was accused of sexual misconduct involving an adult male while at Holy Angels.
- Between 1956 and 1958, an 11-year-old boy was allegedly molested by Turillo at the Maple Avenue School in Barrington, located across the street from Holy Angels Church, where Turillo was assigned.
- In March 1953, Turillo was accused of sexual misconduct involving several young boys at Sacred Heart parish.
- In January 1952, a boy was allegedly inappropriately touched and kissed by Turillo at a Catholic Youth Organization basketball game at West Warwick Junior High School.
