- In June 2026, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office announced a warrant for the arrest of Dr. David Beary on four counts of sexual battery.
Beary allegedly touched patients’ breasts inappropriately during medical procedures at St. Bernard Parish Hospital.
- In 1997, the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners suspended Dr. Beary’s medical license because of recurring abuse of controlled substances. He wrote prescriptions for controlled substances in the names of other individuals for his own personal use.
His license was reinstated in 1998 on five years of probation. The Board restored his medical license without restriction in 2002.
