Since approximately 2018, Dr. Oumair Aejaz worked as a contracted doctor in the US on a visa, with privileges at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grant Blanc Township and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township.
As of August 2024, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting an investigation into Dr. Oumair Aejaz’s alleged crimes, which has revealed disturbing details. As investigators review thousands of videos seized from Dr. Aejaz’s residence, they suspect there may be numerous additional victims beyond those already identified. The investigation is likely to expand beyond local jurisdictions, potentially involving other states.

- In June 2024, Dr. Oumair Aejaz’s wife took legal action by filing for divorce and a personal protection order. She alleged that her husband had been secretly recording her in their home since 2019, despite her repeated objections. The petition claims that he installed cameras in various rooms, including the bathroom, and captured footage of her without her consent.
- On August 7, 2024, the police started investigating Dr. Oumair Aejaz after his wife tipped them off about his activities. The next day, they searched his residence and took away many devices including four cell phones, six computers, and 15 storage drives. Notably, a hard drive containing approximately 13,000 videos was among the seized items.
- On August 13, 2024, Dr. Oumair Aejaz was officially charged and appeared in court at the 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The judge set his bail at $2 million.
- On August 20, 2024, the Oakland County Sheriff held a news conference to share updates on the investigation. They revealed that a large amount of explicit content had been found, including hundreds of nude images and videos of children and women, taken over several years. Additionally, some videos allegedly show Dr. Oumair Aejaz engaging in sexual assaults on women who appear to be unconscious or asleep in hospital beds. Authorities are still investigating whether these videos were shared with others.
- On August 26, Dr. Oumair Aejaz had a court hearing by video conference. His next court appearance is set for September 16. Meanwhile, his $2 million bond and its associated conditions remain unchanged.
