Dr. Guy Rosenschein’s History of Sexual Abuse
Rosenschein first came to the notice of police enforcement in 2016 after an online provider reported he was publishing child porn. Investigations also revealed he was inappropriately touching and photographing children’s genitals during tests and surgeries. Dr. Guy Rosenschein also assaulted his minor patients sexually after gaining their trust with expensive trips and Gifts. Examples of Dr. Guy Rosenschein’s sexual abuse include the following :
- On July 17, 2024, Guy Rosenschein, 70, was charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault and two charges of rape. According to court records, at least one minor was involved in the child sexual abuse cases. Rosenschein was held in a federal detention facility l when the arrest warrant was served on him. Rosenschein denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty.
- In 2023, Guy Rosenschein admitted in federal court to seven charges of distributing sexually explicit images of minors and one charge of possessing such images. As a result, he was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison.
Investigations have uncovered three people who claim to have been abused by Rosenschein. Charges related to two of these alleged victims are now pending in Arkansas.
- In 2019, a former patient from Arkansas filed a lawsuit in New Mexico accusing Rosenschein of grooming him at age 11 to accept sexual abuse. The lawsuit claims Rosenschein manipulated the boy over four years, even befriending his single mother and promising to “take him under his wing.” The abuse allegedly continued throughout this period, exploiting the child’s trust.
- In 2016, a federal court criminal complaint revealed that detectives received a tip about an online user who had uploaded an image of a minor engaged in a sexual act. Tracing the IP address led them to Rosenschein’s home in Northeast Albuquerque. When they arrived with a search warrant, Rosenschein wore a bathrobe and was armed with a gun, but he eventually surrendered peacefully.
In Dr. Rosenschein’s bedroom, they found a 16-year-old boy in his underwear. Rosenschein denied having any sexual relationship with the boy, who was his former patient.

Do I Have a Case?
You may have grounds to file a civil legal action if:
- You were sexually abused by a doctor or medical staff.
- The abuse occurred at any medical facility.
- You were sexually exploited or abused by someone in a position of power within an organization meant to provide support and care.
Levy Konigsberg represents survivors in civil lawsuits that aim to hold medical facilities and other facility operators accountable for their failures to stop abusive staff members and protect patients.
As civil claims, these cases are separate from any criminal proceedings that may arise from abuse and focus instead on holding institutions liable for damages. This means you may still have a claim even if:
- Your abuser is no longer alive.
- Your abuser was never charged with or convicted of a crime.
Recoverable Damages in Sexual Abuse Claims
In addition to providing accountability and a sense of justice, civil sex abuse lawsuits allow survivors to recover financial compensation for their damages, which may include:
- Past medical and mental health expenses
- Future mental health expenses, including therapy, medications, etc.
- Pain and suffering
- Emotional anguish and psychological harm
- Lost income
- Other economic and non-economic damages
