BIO
Michael (Mike) Raschilla is an Associate Attorney at Levy Konigsberg LLP, where he litigates on behalf of impoverished and underrepresented communities exposed to environmental injustices. Mike’s upbringing in Youngstown, Ohio, a Midwestern steel town, fuels his commitment to representing individuals harmed by corporate and governmental failures that have caused environmental disasters.
Prior to joining Levy Konigsberg, Mike served the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit as a Staff Attorney. There, he drafted bench memoranda for the Second Circuit Judges that recommended dispositions on pro se appeals and substantive motions concerning a vast array of federal law, including 42 U.S.C. § 1983, Title VII discrimination, and habeas corpus.
Mike earned his J.D. from New York Law School, where he graduated summa cum laude and participated in the New York State Unified Court System’s Pro Bono Scholars program. While attending law school, Mike served as a Staff Editor for the Law Review and ABA Family Law Quarterly, participated in Moot Court, and was a teaching assistant for multiple courses.
Before law school, Mike earned a B.S.B.A with a double major in Finance and Economics at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was a two-year captain of the University’s baseball team. After college, Mike moved to New York City (where he currently resides) and worked in the financial services industry. He also worked as a Grounds Keeper for the Central Park Conservancy, where he implemented sustainable strategies and environmental initiatives while managing fifteen acres of land in the northern section of the park.
Aside from litigating, Mike enjoys listening to live music, camping, hiking, spending time in public parks, and running marathons and ultra-marathons.
