In November 2024, it was reported that a teacher and an aide at the Jamison Elementary School in Pennsylvania’s Central Bucks School District allegedly mistreated special needs non-verbal children.
Parents and witnesses have shared troubling accounts of what the children endured, including allegations of them being:
- Regularly subjected to illegal physical restraint.
- Denied access to water during school hours.
- Left undressed for extended periods.
- Denied medical evaluations for potential injuries.
- Forced to walk across wood chips and hot asphalt barefoot as a punishment.
District officials were also accused of allegedly withholding information about the abuse in an attempt to cover it up.
In February 2025, the district hired an outside law firm to review the allegations. While this is an important first step, it is far from enough. Families deserve answers and justice for the harm caused to the victims.
